Discover the approaches to care offered by independent practitioners at Saltpoint Health.

Manual osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on approach to care that considers the body as a whole. Rather than focusing only on the area where symptoms are experienced, osteopathic care considers how the body’s structure, movement, and different systems work together to influence overall function.

Through careful assessment and individualized manual techniques, practitioners work with the joints, muscles, fascia, and other tissues of the body to support mobility, circulation, and the body’s ability to adapt and recover.

Osteopathic care is individualized to each person, with treatment guided by assessment findings, current concerns, and goals for care.

MANUAL OSTEOPATHY

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first appointment begins with a conversation about your health history, current concerns, and goals for care, followed by an osteopathic assessment. Your practitioner will look at how different areas of the body move and function together to help guide an individualized treatment approach.

Treatment is performed through clothing and may include a combination of gentle and more direct hands-on techniques involving the joints, muscles, fascia, and other tissues. Your practitioner will adapt treatment to your individual needs, comfort, and response.
