Frequently Asked Questions

  • Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on approach to care that focuses on the body’s interconnected systems to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support the body’s natural ability to heal.

Through gentle manual techniques, practitioners assess and treat the body as a whole, working to restore balance, improve tissue mobility, and encourage optimal function. Treatment may involve working with joints, muscles, fascia, and internal structures to reduce areas of restriction and support overall health.

  • Osteopathy can support a wide range of concerns including musculoskeletal pain, headaches, digestive issues, postural strain, sports injuries, and recovery following injury or stress. Because osteopathy considers the body as an interconnected system, it is appropriate for many conditions and populations and has a strong capacity to support overall health and wellness.

  • Your practitioner will begin by discussing your health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. A hands-on assessment is then performed to evaluate movement, tissue quality, and how different areas of the body are functioning together.

Treatment involves gentle manual techniques that aim to improve mobility, reduce tension, and support the body’s natural ability to regulate and heal. Your practitioner will explain their findings and may offer recommendations to help support your progress between visits.

  • The number of treatments varies depending on the individual and the nature of the concern being addressed. Some people notice changes quickly, while others benefit from a series of treatments to support longer-term improvement.

  • Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for ease of movement during assessment and treatment.

  • At this time, direct billing is not available. Patients will receive a receipt following their appointment that can be submitted to their insurance provider for reimbursement if their plan includes coverage.

  • Some insurance providers may require a physician’s referral for manual osteopathic treatment.

Please check with your insurance company prior to booking to avoid any issues when submitting your receipt for reimbursement.

  • Appointments can be booked through our online booking platform. Simply click the “Book an Appointment” button on the homepage to view available times.

  • New patients are encouraged to book one to two follow-up appointments approximately two weeks after their initial visit to help maintain an appropriate treatment rhythm while your body responds to care. Not everyone will require this frequency, but reserving these appointments in advance helps ensure availability if continued treatment is recommended.
